Yukon College welcomes Luzelle Nagel as director of Finance & Administration

WHITEHORSE—Luzelle Nagel has joined Yukon College as director of Finance & Administration.

Nagel was with Yukon Housing Corporation for nine years as a manager of Financial Planning and Reporting and most recently as manager of Finance.

“Luzelle has a strong background in auditing, public-sector accounting, third-party funding agreements and non-traditional revenues. This background, together with her love of education and commitment to team-work and cooperative leadership, make Luzelle an outstanding addition to the leadership team at Yukon College,” said Dr. Karen Barnes, president and vice-chancellor of Yukon College.

"I am very excited about the opportunity to work with Yukon College as it continues on the path to become Yukon University, especially considering the important role education has in the success of individuals, families and the community,” said Nagel.

Born and raised in South Africa, Nagel holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honores) with a specialization in Accounting Sciences from the University of Pretoria and received her designation as a Chartered Accountant in 2006.

The director of Finance & Administration oversees the financial management of the institution including payroll, budget management, annual audited statements, and procurement.
