RENR 365 - Ecology of Northern Landscapes

Landscape ecology focuses on the relationship between pattern, process and scale and their relationship to broad-scale ecological and environmental issues. Topics highlighted in this course include understanding landscape components and dynamics, detecting spatial/temporal change in landscape properties, issues of scales, movements of organisms and disturbances across landscape mosaics, and conservation planning and management in a landscape context.

Prerequisite: RENR 364 or permission of an ENCS advisor.

Registration restricted to students in B.Sc. in Environmental and Conservation Sciences program. Non-B.Sc. ENCS students interested in taking RENR 365 should contact the ENCS Program Advisor, Dr. Katie Aitken, at kaitken@yukonu.ca, for registration information.
