RENR 201 - Intro Geomatic Techniques

Introduction to the fundamental theories and concepts of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Course content will include data input, storage and editing, spatial data structures, analytical functions of a GIS, data output, management of GIS, and applications of GIS. Laboratory exercises will complement the theory presented in the lectures.
Prerequisites: Strong computer skills (Windows environment); registration in RENR 201L, the mandatory lab component of this course; and registration in B.Sc. in Environmental and Conservation Sciences program.
