ECMP 100 - Assistive Technology

As members of the education support team, educational assistants play a significant role in supporting children and youth with learning challenges. This course will examine a range of technology-based adaptations, from low-technology solutions to specific software applications. Participants will learn to use these technologies to support learning and enhance the capabilities of students in the classroom. This course will cover the essential concepts, key terms and the application of a framework approach for matching students and their learning needs to appropriate adaptations. Participants will acquire the knowledge and skills to inform and implement technology-based interventions that support students to achieve greater independence and participation in the classroom.
PREREQUISITE(s): Acceptance in the Education Assistant Certificate Program
