Building Northern Apprentice

Are you living within a Yukon community and interested in apprenticeship certification?

Whether you are a new or existing apprentice, our Building Northern Apprentice Project enables you to gain the technical training and theory to pass online exams while staying in your own community.

Program Description

The objective of this new pilot project is to offer a self-paced yet managed environment within the student's own community. Student's will gain:

  • Theoretical trade knowledge along with hands-on shop experience.
  • Safety skills and awareness.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to their given trade.
Admission Requirements

All students must be registered apprentices with Advanced Education Branch, Yukon Government Department of Education.

  • good physical condition
  • good hand-eye coordination
  • suitable work clothes and steel toed work shoes
