College holds joint info session for health care, child care, education and social work programs

WHITEHORSE—Yukon College is holding a joint information session for prospective students considering a career in the helping professions on Tuesday, March 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Ayamdigut campus in Whitehorse,

Faculty, students and alumni from the Bachelor of Social Work, Yukon Native Teacher Education program (Bachelor of Education & Bachelor of Education After Degree), Practical Nurse diploma, Early Learning and Child Care certificate and diploma, and the Health Care Assistant certificate programs will be on hand to answer questions.

“It is a wonderful opportunity for anyone considering such a career to connect with faculty and students to learn more about the different programs, as well as the commitment and pre-requisites required for each option,” said Catherine Bradbury, Chair of the School of Health, Education and Human Services.

“Current students and alumni are here to answer questions about the possibilities and challenges of their program as well as employment potential after graduation.”

The first program application deadline is quickly approaching. Students applying to the Bachelor of Social Work program must apply by March 29. Other programs have deadlines in April, May and June.
