Student GIS Research Assistant
If you are interested in working at the Yukon Research Centre - then this is a great opportunity for you!
The GIS Research Assistant will be working alongside researchers to processing drone images collected along the Alaska highway and several other study sites in Yukon. The student will use precise GPS measurements to correct datasets positioning, they will learn how to produce 3D models, surface models, and orthomosaic from aerial images. These products will then be used to create maps of the study sites.
The student will be guided through the images processing but need a good understanding of GIS and geographical concepts.
- Must be a registered student at a Canadian Post-Secondary Institution
- Proven organizational skills and analytical skills
- Attention to details, independent and motivated
- Completion of GEOG 250 course with at least 70% final mark or demonstrate equivalent skills
