Instructor, Adult Basic Education (ABE) Intermediate Math, English & Essential Skills)
THIS COMPETITION IS OPEN TO EXISTING STAFF AT YUKON COLLEGE ONLY.
Reporting to the Chair, School of Academic and Skill Development, this position will be responsible for planning, coordinating and conducting lessons in adult basic education in the subject areas of Intermediate Math, Intermediate English and Essential Skills. Duties will include assigning and reviewing work of students and maintaining accurate records. This role will also be responsible for coordinating essential skills and/or ABE intermediate specialized projects and programs, when funding is available and/or required.
We are looking for applicants who enjoy working in a student-centered environment and being part of a dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s Degree in a related discipline (i.e., Education, ABE, Social Sciences) and extensive experience teaching in an adult learning environment. Candidates with an acceptable combination of Bachelor’s degree with related experience may also be considered.
