About Graduation

 

Convocation Day is the largest celebration of Yukon College’s academic year!

Who?
Students who have completed their program requirements are awarded their certificate, diploma or degree. Friends and family join the new graduates for the convocation ceremony and the reception.

What?
There are two graduation ceremonies this year:
11 am – Applied Arts
2 pm – Applied Science & Management and Academic & Skills Development

When?
Saturday, May 11, 2013

Where?
The ceremony takes place at Yukon Arts Centre. Graduates meet at Yukon College where they don their graduation gowns and hats, then join the procession of dignitaries, lead by a piper to the Yukon Arts Centre.

After the ceremony, Grads and their guests are invited to a reception in Yukon College's Kinnikinnick Kaff.

 

Photos and Videos

NEW THIS YEAR! Photo booth will be available to students, with a professional photographer taking your photos! In the PIT, from 10:00-4:30, students, their friends and family are able to get a photo done any time during the day. One photo per person in line at a time, but you are welcome to get up to three shots throughout the day. Students are welcome to add as many people as can fit into their photo! Invite your friends and family to be photographed with you!

Students are then invited to order images online through a website that will be provided at the photo booth. A 5x7 image is $5.00 and an 8x10 image is $10.00. Shipping and handling will be charged $5.00. Students can also pay cash to pre-order at the booth.

There will also be a video shot of each convocation ceremony. The videos will capture the spirit of the event and are not intended to document everyone there.

Finally there will also be a College photographer on site, photographing students and guests for College publications, the Yukon College Facebook page and for use on the website. Students will be asked to sign a model release. These photos will be available to students only through the College Facebook page.
