Aeroponics dome feasibility study

Project Completed: March 31, 2016

Food security is a growing concern for northern communities, and Technology Innovation (TI) is exploring affordable technologies to support food production in the North.

TI  partnered with AgriArctic Yukon Inc. to develop and test the Agridome; a food production system that integrates a number of innovative technologies. The Agridome is a partially automated aeroponics facility designed to be compatible with renewable energy sources.

Over the 2015/16 winter season several vegetables were grown which included: lettuce, tomatoes, basil, kale and swiss chard. For additional information and updates please visit the Agri-Arctic website.
