ECD 220: Foundations in Early Childhood
Students begin with a look at the current issues in the field of early childhood development. The course focuses on the historical, philosophical, social and psychological influences that have shaped present early childhood theory and practice. Contemporary models of early childhood programs, such as Montessori and home-based programs, are examined from this perspective. Students spend time formulating a personal, implementable philosophy of working with young children.
