FASD 003: Accommodating for the Challenges of FASD: Justice, Safety, & Protection

This two-day (12 hour) course is offered in three streams ? each focuses on a specific area of service delivery to individuals who may have Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder or other brain differences and their families. Participants are encouraged to choose the stream most relevant to their work.

In this course, participants are challenged to apply core understandings of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder to the effective delivery of services. Participants examine relevant scenarios and use critical thinking abilities to design appropriate action plans (including adapting individual practice and systems). Attention is also given to the importance of developing coordinated approaches with other community service providers.

This training is intended for those who work in courts, corrections, counseling, legal services, investigation, enforcement, public safety and security fields and provide services to clients who may have FASD.
