COMP 013: Introduction to Voice over IP Communications
Students will get an introduction to the new standard in voice communications: Voice over IP. With the introduction of local VoIP carriers competing for local phone service here in Yukon, it will pay to stay ahead of the trend. Students will learn the basics of VoIP and how it differs from traditional voice traffic, the challenges with offering VoIP service, as well as the protocols and compressions used in delivering the service.
