President’s Message

Education that is Northern in Focus but National in Reach
At Yukon College we teach with a northern perspective, while ensuring that many of our courses and programs transfer seamlessly into college and universities in the South. We offer over 40 programs, ranging from degrees to certificates, through seven academic and career schools, focused on the following subject areas: health, education and human services; liberal arts; management, tourism and hospitality; science; mining and technology; trades; and continuing education and training. The College also provides the first two years of university transfer and is a respected member of the BC Council on Admissions and Transfer as well as the Alberta Council on Admissions and Transfer. We offer something for every learner.
Yukon College works closely with business and industry, developing programs designed to address labour force needs. This means that you will obtain accreditation that helps you compete in the 21st century workforce. Yukon First Nations also provide counsel to the College on program and course development, through our President’s Advisory Committee on First Nations Initiatives (PACFNI), hosting a representative from every one of Yukon’s 14 First Nations. Your Yukon College credential will be competitive and uniquely inclusive of northern focused content.
Research, specifically climate change focused research, is a priority of Yukon College, through our Yukon Research Centre. We conduct research and develop innovations with national and international partners on climate change, solutions for government, business and industry, and the social economy. We know the North and we’re developing responses to the ways in which it’s changing.
With thirteen campuses throughout the beautiful and historic territory that is the Yukon, we have the ability to serve the education and training needs of every Yukoner. Come talk with us. We welcome the opportunity to be your college.
