Yukon College is looking for a qualified community focused candidate to work closely within a team environment to develop, promote, deliver and evaluate programs/courses that support the education and training goals of the Tr’ondek Hwech’in Farm School program in Dawson and Yukon College.
Reporting to the Chair, School of Academic and Skill Development and to the Department Head, Community Education and Development, this position is primarily responsible for providing coordination and administration of programs and services at the TH Farm School, including Skills for Employment. This position collaborates closely with the Farm School program team, Yukon College staff and farm management for the implementation and coordination of farm
school units, instructional support and curriculum support.
Applicants should have an undergraduate degree, in a related field, combined with experience in: coordinating programs and people in a cross-cultural environment, community development, adult basic education instruction, and working with First Nations organizations, agencies and governments.
Knowledge of the area and of the culture and traditions of the Tr’ondek Hwech’in First Nation would be considered an asset. Consideration may be given to candidates with the appropriate blend of education and experience.
The primary work location of this position is flexible within the Yukon, however some duties are required to be performed on site at the TH Farm, therefore frequent travel to Dawson will be required.
